fra-joséphine is an individual studio that publishes and prints silkscreen printed textiles. All items are designed by the studio and handmade from exclusive design. They are one of a kind print or small production, limiting the tints to a few colours per pattern. I work with natural fabrics only. Materials: linen, cotton, wool and silk are carefully chosen with French weavers. One exception: the yellow silk of Isaan (the north-east of Thailand), not industrial, biological, stemming from an ancestral tradition witch continues thanks to the feminine association Sawang Boran Naturals colors used for the dyes and the printing inks are vegetable extracts mainly produced in France and certified GOTS. fra-joséphine® is a registered trademark |

Workshop's time To the source, there is the fiber, there is the color and there is the design. All begin with the meeting between this elements. To the studio, the living reigns. Vegetables o animals weaved fibers, organics dyes extracts from plants for a long time, all the nature of the landscape surronding, the simple tools we invent and create in the course of necessities : such are the daily materials chosen to make a free work connected with the hand and the earth's rythms.

"There is no craft motion which is made at the same time billions of times in the day by a wing, a fin, a feeler, a claw, a seed, an ear, a leaf, the wind or the sun." Jean Giono - Triumph of the life, 1942 -
